A Prayer Life

A modern day prayer journal
This morning’s sky reminded me of the majesty and beauty of my King.

True worship leads to service. As we stand in His presence and recognize all He has done for us…what can we say but say yes? What is God asking you to do?

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
~Romans12:1

As I meditated on Christ’s unending love for this world, and listened to Crowder’s “Come As You Are,” my spirit was touched by these thoughts:

There’s no need to get ready, or cleaned up, or to get it all figured out…just come as you are because Jesus is there, waiting, always. Oh, my Lord, my heart soars in Your embrace!

COME AS YOU ARE

Come out of sadness from wherever you’ve been
Come broken hearted let rescue begin
Come find your mercy, Oh sinner come kneel

Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal

So lay down your burdens, lay down your shame
All who are broken, lift up your face
Oh wanderer come home, You’re not too far
So lay down your hurt, lay down your heart
Come as you are

There’s hope for the hopeless
And all those who’ve strayed
Come sit at the table
Come taste the grace
There’s rest for the weary
Rest that endures
Earth has no sorrow
That Heaven can’t cure

Come as you are
Fall in His arms, come as you are

There’s joy for the morning, Oh sinner be still
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal
Earth has no sorrow that Heaven can’t heal

I am considering the might and majesty of my King this morning. Such considerations push the world away for awhile and flood my heart with peace.

Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”
~Mark 9:24

I want to go deeper.

Bind me to You, my King. Safe and secure…

Today I am meditating on the fullness of God. Oh, to comprehend the splendor and majesty of our King. My prayer today is for another drop, another spoonful, another cupful of His loving, magnificent, and endless presence. I am transformed by His presence and I seek Him without restraint.

I often return to meditate on the 23rd Psalm because it is so comforting in many areas of life. Thank You, my Lord. You did not leave us without solace and relief from the troubles and noise of this world.

Jesus, Jesus,
O, our King.
Jesus, Jesus,
Our hearts sing.
O, to live Your perfect will.
O, Your strength to climb these hills.
Jesus, Jesus,
O, my King.
Jesus, Jesus,
My everything.
